Three things the organizer needs to decideWhether to sell online at all — cash at the door costs nothing to process, and some families
will always turn up unplanned, so online would sit alongside cash rather than replace it.Who absorbs the card fee. Stripe takes 2.9% + 30¢, which is 88¢ on a $20 pass — about 4.4%.
Across a few hundred spectators that adds up. The options are to absorb it, add a small
convenience fee, or price the online pass slightly higher.Whether free passes (4 & under, 65 & over) get issued online too. They cost nothing, but
giving them a QR means the door count is accurate rather than a guess.
